Fire Dance
It is a difficult and dangerous dance form that is mostly performed in the desert areas. This form portrays the lifestyle of Jasnathis of Chum and Bikaner who are famous for their tantric powers. During the performance, a large bed of charcoal and live wood is place. The Jasnathi boys and men jump on to the fire with drum beats complementing the act. Gradually the music increases in tempo and a crescendo is reached, leaving the performers in a trance-like state.
